FCI Constructors, Inc.
Benicia, California
Former Operations Manager Curtis Weltz has been
promoted to President and General Manager of FCI
Constructors Northern California Division (FCI
North). Curt will be taking over responsibilities
from Tom Rademacher, who has successfully managed
the division for the last five years. Tom will
be relocating to his hometown of San Diego to
assume similar responsibilities in FCI's Southern
California Division.
For the last 3 1/2 years, Curt has acted as Project
Manager on the New Carquinez Suspension Bridge,
set to open at the end of this year. Curt also
assisted in the start up of FCI North over six
years ago.
The northern division was predominately established
to focus on large, heavy civil projects and to
pursue forecasted work on Northern California's
toll bridges on behalf of parent company HBG Constructors,
Inc., based in Longmont Colorado. FCI North recently
established a permanent facility, constructing
an office and equipment yard on 28 acres of land
in Benicia, California.
FCI North has constructed the new 580/680 Interchange
in Pleasanton, the new 85/87 Interchange in San
Jose, and is currently constructing the 7th Street
Extension in Sacramento, the I-680/Marina Vista
Interchange in Benicia, and the 85/101 Interchange
in Mountain View. The company has also been involved
with the construction of three toll bridge projects:
the Benicia-Martinez Retrofit, the New Carquinez
Bridge, and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
