Flatiron Structures Company
began in 1970 as a division of Flatiron Paving Company. In 1983
it incorporated and became a subsidiary of Flatiron Paving Company Inc.,
with part of the capital stock owned by Scott Lynn. In 1989, Scott Lynn
purchased additional capital stock and became the majority stockholder.
In 1993, the business went from a Sub Chapter S Corporation to a Limited
Liability Company, with Wayss & Freytag, AG, a German company, as the
majority member, owning 70% interest, and Scott Lynn holding the remaining
30% interest. In 1997 Wayss & Freytag was acquired by
Hollandsche Beton Group Nv (HBG), of the Netherlands. In 1999, HBG
reorganized its US holdings and Flatiron Structures Company became a subsidiary
of the holding company, HBG Constructors, Inc.
Profile
Flatiron Structures Company, under the direction of Robert W. French, President, is a heavy construction
company with national capability and a track record spanning more than
twenty-five years. Headquarted in Longmont, Colorado, 30 miles north of Denver
and near the distinctive rock formation for which the Company is named, our firm
is recognized as a builder of high quality, technically advanced bridges,
highways and other heavy structures. Our work with concrete dates back to 1947
when Flatiron's forerunner was part of a diversified highway contracting company
serving the Rocky Mountain region. Evidence of the Company's capability is
visible throughout our home state and across the United States. Currently,
Flatiron has six projects in progress with a contract value of $645
million.
