Geoff Collins
Geoff Collins, Executive Vice President of Interbeton Inc., has 30 years experience in construction, specializing in heavy civil and marine work. He began his career in England working on the design of tunnels and bridges for the London Underground. Later, moving to the Netherlands, he shifted his emphasis to the design of ports, harbors and other related marine works. In 1980 he moved from the design side of the industry to the construction side working on ports, harbors and other heavy civil projects in South America, the Middle East and Europe.
Since 1989 he has concentrated solely on the North American market. Working from the Netherlands, he was instrumental in acquiring the Boston Risers project for Interbeton before moving to the U.S. His next assignment found him leading Interbeton's bid team for the third harbor tunnel (now known as the Ted Williams Tunnel) in Boston, part of the Central Artery/Third Harbor Tunnel Project.
After spending three years on the Ted Williams Tunnel, he now concentrates on acquiring new projects where the expertise available within HBG Constructors' sister companies all over the world can be brought to bear. A striking example of this corporate synergy is the I-90/I-93 interchange in Boston where Interbeton has successfully completed three world-record size jacked-box tunnels. Importing expertise from HBG's sister company in England made this project possible.
