FCI North lands new project!

Congratulations to the estimating team at FCI North for landing another project in Northern California. The work on the $23.4 million project entails completing the interchange at Routes 85 and 87 in San Jose. The owner is Valley Transportation Authority, which is paying for the project through a special tax.

Half of this heavily traveled interchange was build seven years ago. FCI North crews will complete the on and off ramps for the interchange. Other portions of the contract include widening a three-span bridge over a percolation pond for recharging ground water. Crews will also build two new cast-in-place, box girder bridges to tie into the existing abutments. These new bridges will carry two lanes, plus HOV lanes and a shoulder. There will be be five separate MSE walls, for a total of 2,600 square meters of wall. Crews will import 160,000 metric tons of material to build the embankments

Construction started in early September and will cross light rail lines in three locations. Much night and weekend work will be required. The project manager will be Walt Quincy, with Siew-Chin Yeong as project engineer, and Misty Rogers as office manager.

Who's going where?

As some projects wind down, and others start, HBG employees are on the move. Here is a partial list:
