Currently head of claims and changes on the I-90/I-93 project in Boston, George Aiken has been with Interbeton since receiving an MBA from William and Mary college in 1990. The North Carolina native graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the University of North Carolina in 1983.
Prior to getting his graduate degree, George worked for Misener in Tampa for five years as a contracts manager. "It was fun seeing Misener people again at the annual retreat in Palm Springs last May," says George. "I hadn't seen most of them in 15 years." He has found the culture at Interbeton similar to what he experienced at Misener, and he says "We're now all a part of HBG." George is enthusiastic about the design/build capacity of HBG.
George and his wife Debbie live in Hull, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston. Debbie works for a large international bank. The couple has two children, Lauren (7) and Simmons (3), who stay with an au pair while their parents both work long hours. When he's not managing a staff of six people at work, George loves to climb mountains. He climbed Mt. Whitney this year with a friend, and climbed Long's Peak after the retreat in Colorado two years ago. "I love Colorado," he says enthusiastically. When he can't find a mountain to scale, George also enjoys skiing and camping.
