Larry Landers logs 25 years with Misener Marine

Born in Georgia, Larry Landers moved with his family to St. Petersburg, Florida as a young child, and considers it home. As the youngest of 11 children, he says he was well taken care of as a child. "With all those older brothers to take care of me," remembers, "I had no need to worry about bullies!"

In high school Larry excelled in freehand drawing, and his art instructor suggested he sign up for the school's new drafting program. His drafting instructor had been an army engineer and his stories intrigued the young Larry. His senior year, his school started a work program with local companies.

Larry joined Misener Marine as a draftsman in 1976. It was a good match. He moved up, and is now an engineering technician in the engineering department with chief engineer Steve Walton, and junior engineer David Folk. "Misener has always been family oriented," explains Larry, speaking of his long history with the company. "I've also had opportunities to travel to job sites in the Caribbean, and to training sessions around the U. S." He's pleased about Misener's becoming a part of HBG, finding it an easy transition. He says, "We are stronger being part of a bigger group."

Larry and his wife Veda have an 11-year-old daughter named Alexis. Larry enjoys bowling and softball, and he and his family are very involved in church activities.
