Our Internship Program creates the proverbial "win-win" situation
for HBG and for our interns. At HBG, we benefit from the extra labor, and
an opportunity to try people out before hiring them. If we do hire them,
they already have proven skills and are familiar with our company culture.
From the students' point of view, the internship is a learning experience
in the field that provides all kinds of information and experience not available
in a traditional classroom.

After nearly four years of work, the Benicia-Martinez Bridge retrofit is
nearing completion. The project was originally bid at $89,000,000 and 1,025
days. Change orders increased the duration to over $115,000,000 and 1,445
days. Much of the staff (including project manager Ian Sunderland) has moved
on to other job sites, primarily Cooper River in South Carolina.

person to manage QA/QC on the Cooper River project. Formerly quality manager
at the New Mexico 44 project near Albuquerque, and Silverado before that,
