and replaced
Nine new bridge structures constructed with cast-in-place,

Interesting Facts:
Reconstruction of the Santa Ana River Bridge involved building
the substructure during the summer months only. Superstructure
constructed of 198 precast girders, which were all set at
nighttime
Construction performed within ten feet of a large office building
Extensive shoring required to protect existing structures
and roadways
Significant underground construction required interacting
with private owners and maintaining traffic during construction
Shoring at the abutment of an existing railroad bridge to
allow construction of a new railroad bridge. Tracks remained
active during construction
Minimizing traffic impacts as construction was ongoing through
the most popular tourist area in Southern California
