Summer/Fall 2003
Foundation work on the eastbound
portion of the new Skyway is underway
at piers 13 through 16, where coffercells
are completed.
Crews continue to cast segments at
the Stockton pre-case yard, where
just over 30 of the 452 segments have
been cast.
Winter 2003
The first pile driving template was
placed at Pier 16, inside one of the
newly built cofferdams. Once all of
the piles are driven at one pier,
the template is dismantled and moved
to the next pier.
Silting in the first footing box
occurred on January 9
Pier and pile forms arrive mid-January
Fall 2002
Two steel boxes will arrive in December
Work has begun on the first cofferdam
Crews have completed all dredging
Access dredging is complete and foundation
dredging has begun. Off-site fabrication
of footing boxes, piling, pile driving
templates and cofferdam frames is
underway.
Casting yard construction has begun
in Stockton and first segment casting
is scheduled to begin in January 2003.
