Project Overview:
The Utah Transit Authority proposed constructing a light
rail transit system consisting of two major projects: The
University LRT and the Medical Center LRT.
Beginning in 2000, HBG
Flatiron led the design/build joint venture as part of
SLC Rail Constructors for Utah Transit Authority's $89.4 million
extension of Salt Lake City's light rail transit system. SLC
Rail Constructors is a partnership with HBG
Flatiron, Stacey and Witbeck Inc., Geneva Rock and CHS
Designers.
After completing the project almost one year ahead of schedule,
SLC Rail Constructors was chosen again to complete the $41
million design/build project for the Medical Center LRT.
