HBG is hard at work on new projects across the United States. The projects listed below were recently awarded to HBG by the Colorado and California Departments of Transportation and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. Check back soon for project updates and photos.

Routes 15/56

FCI South was the lowest bidder on the new $13.6 million contract to improve the on and off-ramps at the Route 15/56 interchange in Sourthern California. Construction began in mid-February and will last approximately 16 months.

Route 85/101 North Interchange

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority awarded FCI North a $52 million contract on November 6, 2002. FCI Constructors, the lowest of seven bidders, is joint venturing with Pavex to reconstruct and reconfigure the Route 101 interchanges with Old Middlefield Way, Route 85, and Shorline and Moffet Blvds in Mountain View, California.

FCI Constructors (62%) and Pavex (38%) will construct five new overhead bridge structures, widen one existing overhead bridge and demolish two existing bridges. The project also includes grading, A/C paving, stormwater drainage and the construction of MSE and cast-in-place retaining walls. The project will take approximately 32 months to complete.

Community Center Drive and Bridge over I-25 - Denver, CO

The project was awarded to HBG Flatiron on November 18, 2002. The major portion of the work is the construction of a prestressed concrete "U" girder bridge over I-25 for the City of Northglenn. It is the City's intent to "connect their City," as Northglenn residents reside on both sides of I-25. The project will start in the latter part of December and be completed by October 2003.

Greeley Canal Bridge - Greeley, CO

The Colorado Department of Transportation awarded HBG Flatiron this project on November 1, 2002. The project includes the replacement of a 2-lane highway bridge, widening 600 LF of roadway and HBP paving. The new precast girder bridge will be 50 feet long by 43 feet wide. The existing bridge did not meet current load limits and was failing structurally. Since the road is a major highway, an asphalt paved detour had to be constructed to maintain traffic flow. The bridge spans over an irrigation canal that is scheduled to re-open in May 2003.
